Offshore wind energy: Our future? How?
Energía eólica marina: ¿Nuestro futuro? ¿Cómo?

Our seas and oceans offer a vast renewable energy resource. The marine environment is an enormous pool of energy which, according to the European Commission, globally exceeds the present and projected future energy needs. For this reason, the development of technologies to exploit the great energy potential of our seas and ocean, e.g. by means of offshore wind energy, is unstoppable. Nevertheless, there are challenges to meet and problems to overcome. Research and innovation in this field are still needed. The contribution of all the different stakeholders in the society is required to achieve the best and most responsible solutions amongst all possible ones. Would you like to contribute to shape them?

What are the research and innovation actions needed for making offshore wind energy sustainable, according to the needs of society?

You want to use your creative mind to develop solutions that best serve individual citizens, your local community and the European society at large. You want to make sure that your needs and expectations are taken into account when local, national and European decisions and innovations are being developed.

The workshop is organised by CIC nanoGUNE using the SDDP methodology.

It will involve citizens, scientists, business representatives, entrepreneurs, local authorities and policymakers in an open dialogue. Together, you will define a common vision and a roadmap of solutions and actions to face this challenge. The results, together with the outcomes of the other MARINA workshops in Europe, will be freely accessible on the MARINA Web Knowledge Sharing Platform, used for identifying lessons learned and best practices and disseminated at European policy conferences.

Location: CIC nanoGUNE Avd. Tolosa 76, 20018 Donostia-San Sebastián, Spain
