MARINA at PROMARE 2017, Constanta – Romania

promareThe conference PROMARE 2017 - Protection of the Black Sea Ecosystem and the Sustainable Management of Maritime Activities, will take place in Constanta, Romania, on September 7-8, organized by National Insitute for Maritime Research and Development  “Grigore Antipa“ Constanta. MARINA Project will take part in the Conference with a presentation titled "Public engagement - a step towards responsible research and innovation”, scheduled on 8 September under thematic session "Sustainable Development and Ecological Education". MARINA will be also present at the Poster session, with a poster about “Composition and Spatial Distribution of Marine Litter along the Romanian Black Sea Coast”, by MARE NOSTRUM ( MARINA project partner).     RRI-SIS MARINA 2018

    The second annual conference of the MARINA project aims at presenting cases studies highlighting examples where the implementation of RRI dimensions, principles and topics, made a difference in the impact of the research and innovation in the context of the H2020 societal challenges. It will be hosted in the frame of Multi-conference RRI - SIS 2018.

    Specific themes of interest to RRI-SIS MARINA 2018 include but are not limited to:
    • Tourism and coastal cities
    • Pollution caused by human and sea pressures
    • Fisheries and aquaculture
    • Renewable energy (wave, wind, tidal)
    • Marine changes caused by climate
    • Marine Biotech
    • Sea Transportation
    • Deep Sea Mining

    The submitted papers are encouraged to discuss the specific theme(s) of marine challenges in the perspective of: Governance, Public engagement and Inclusion in the RRI process; Science education and communication in RRI actions; Gender and Ethical issues in RRI initiatives; Sustainability of RRI processes.
