Blue Growth and Sea Transportation in TSS Mavi Büyüme ve Türk Boğazlar Sistemi’nde Deniz Taşımacılığı The Turkish Straits System (TSS) acts as a biological corridor between two distinctly different basins and has a sensitive marine ecosystem. The region also harbors a lot of industrial activities and as well as 1/3 of the population of the nation. The metropolis of Istanbul is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is listed among 100 important historic sites of the Mediterranean; thus centring the area in touristic activities. One of the aims of Blue Growth is to enhance maritime activities, providing a higher input to the country’s economy. TSS is the only sea transportation route for larger vessels of the Black Sea countries and almost 90% of international trade is conducted through shipping. Therefore, the workshop would attract the attention of stakeholders (maritime industry administrators, trade associations), researchers, NGOs and citizens.
